Mosquito Spraying Press Release 9-23-25

Mosquito Spraying Press Release Sept 23, 2025

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will spray for mosquitoes early in the morning Tuesday, Sept. 23. LFCHD was notified of another occurrence of West Nile Virus in a Lexington resident.

The mosquito spraying will be done between 3:00-6:00am on Tuesday, September 23 and will cover the 40505 zip code area.


For spraying to occur, the wind speed must be less than 10 mph, the temperature must be greater than 55 degrees Fahrenheit and there can be no rain or dense fog. The mosquito spray used by the health department only affects adult mosquitoes that are in the air at the time of spraying.

Mosquito Spraying Press Release Sept 17, 2025

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will spray for mosquitoes early on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 17, after LFCHD was notified of an occurrence of West Nile Virus in a Lexington resident.

On Wednesday, spraying will cover the 40505 & 40502 ZIP code area; this is the area in which the resident lives. Spraying will be done between 3-6 a.m.

For spraying to occur, the wind speed must be less than 10 mph, the temperature must be greater than 55 degrees F and there can be no rain or dense fog. The mosquito spray used by the health department only affects adult mosquitoes that are in the air at the time of spraying.
