The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is proud to announce that our own Trenna Vandergrift has been chosen as the 2025 APRN of the Year! The award was presented by the Kentucky Department of Public Health at the 2025 Public Health Nursing Conference held last week.
Trenna, with over 16 years at LFCHD, has consistently demonstrated the leadership qualities we value most: clinical expertise, professional integrity, and compassionate patient advocacy. She never backs down from challenges, and her positive attitude makes her invaluable to our team’s effectiveness and morale. Trenna serves as a mentor and educator to nursing students, new clinical staff, and experienced nurses, generously sharing her knowledge while encouraging professional growth. Her commitment to both her colleagues and the patients we serve is exceptional.
