The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department (LFCHD), in partnership with the Lexington Humane Society and Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control, is excited to announce a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats, and ferrets. The LFCHD encourages pet owners to take advantage of this opportunity to protect their pets and comply with local regulations.
This community-focused clinic aims to ensure pets are protected against rabies, a preventable but deadly disease, while making vaccinations accessible and affordable for only $5 per pet. No pre-registration is required, and the event is open to all pet owners in the Lexington area.
Event Details:
- Date & Time: September 18, 2025, 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
- Location: Douglass Park, 726 Georgetown St., Lexington, KY
- Requirements: All cats and ferrets must be in carriers, and all dogs must be on a leash
- Cost: $5 per pet for rabies vaccination
- Payment: Cash only
In addition to rabies vaccinations, pet owners can purchase animal licenses at the clinic. Licenses are available for $8 for altered animals (proof of spay/neuter required) and $40 for unaltered animals.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is dedicated to promoting public health and safety in the community. The Lexington Humane Society and Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control work together to ensure the well-being of animals through education, adoption, and responsible pet ownership initiatives.
